If a business deposits a check not made out to them, what can the person who wrote the

check do? Check accidentally delivered to them by postal service. They stamped and deposited the check without looking at the front of the check (they would have seen it wasn't made out to them) and verifying that it was a payment on an account with them. They have been notified by phone and mail that this occurred and they said they were "working on it". It's been 45 days since they were first notified.
