MSRP is $9900, so you add the taxes on to it, that is in the ballpark for an MSRP price, I'd say that's what he's charging you.
If you want to get one cheaper, you could first of all try finding a used one (many people move up to the big twins fairly quickly after getting a sporty), or you can try another dealer for a better price if you really want a new one. Tell the other dealer what you are offered at the dealer you are at now, maybe they'll cut a couple hundred off to make the sale, they can do that.
