Idle problem on a suzuki gn125 1992?

I've just bought a bike (first road legal 125 to get used to riding). I've so far found 2 minor issues: 1. the tachometer only goes from 1000rpm to 2000rpm, would a new cable fix that? (not important really), 2.when at idle, the engine seems to over rev, if I give it a bit of gas then it will sometimes stop and go quite slow which i think would be the normal idle. The accelerator cable seems to be fine, what could be causing this? It doesn't really bother me or affect riding, its just one of those things that isn't perfect. Thanks for all your help :)
which intake woudl that be air or fuel? sorry i'm new to this.

it very well could be your intake. it could have a leak. i am not there to look at the bike so its just a guess on my part. my 600 gxr did the same thing it was just a small crack in the hose

it will most likely be a kink in the throttle cable...try removing it,lube it up and route it a different way.
