this morning, i walked out on my front porch for a smoke, as i do almost every morning. on either side of the steps, theres 2 great big Azelea bushes. i was sitting between them, and i noticed something on one of the leaves. it appeared to be a giant bug with red spots. i went in for a closer look, and saw that it was a bunch of little red bugs (maybe beatles?) all piled on top of eachother. as if they were determined to keep on one leaf. they were encaved by other leaves creating walles around the leaf they were on. when i pulled back one of the leaves, they kinda fled the scene. my first thought was that they were lady bugs. but im very familiar with lady bugs, and knew that they werent. their body is perfectly round, and a bright red. i dont know if they can fly. basically, they look and walk almost just like a lady bug. but without spots, and their heads were a little longer and narrower than a lady bugs. im not scared of them, and they dont seem to be pests. they were actually very beautiful with their bright red bodies on the bright green leaves. im just curious as to what they are.
