Ideas for decorating a fish tank?

Hey what are some ideas for decorations for a fish tank like project, DIY, Homemade not backgrounds just whats in the tank. Please give me advice and what to do and what NOT to do on decorations.

its good to have the taller plants in the back, also have the gravel slightly slope towards the front of the tank..

i like the symmetrical and simple look of a tank, with maybe two long plants in the back corners, and one shorter and wider plant/rock in the middle..to add some excitment, maybe have one or two decorations and bubbles :D
 
anything you want! but you have to put small plants in the front and larger plants in the back to allow more room for the fish to swim
 
I like to use real plants and sand rather than fake plastic stones and plants. It keeps the fish happy, and it looks great.
