Have the water barrel laying over with some kind of lush plant overgrowing out of it like an ivy or something that has colorful flowers. If you go with the colorful flowers maybe paint the two straps around the barrel a similar color. Good Luck!!!
I did this a few years ago with four plastic cans linked together collecting rain water from the roof for my garden on hot days. I used a water pump for high pressure to use with sprinklers.
