I'm going to be turning 16 in a few months, and I'm starting to plan my birthday party. I'm very involved in my school's debate team (and mock trial). They are my true passions in life, and I want to center my party around them. But I need a LOT of ideas.
I want to make sure that everyone (even non-debaters) have fun, so I was thinking we could play...
-"Buzz Word Impromptu Speeches" where we are have to speak for a minute on an obscure topic (like "teachers") without saying vocalized pauses like "um". We played this in class the other day and were laughing the entire time!
- Taboo- the card game where your team has to guess the word on the card without saying some of the words similar to it.
I'm planning on have about 10-15 people at my party (nothing large) and it will be at my house. I don't have a lot of money to work with, but I need ideas for food, decorations, and games. Thanks!
My other problem is that half of the people won't know each other. Most of the debate team will be invited, but a few of my close friends don't know most of my teammates. I'm sure they'll all get along, but I don't know what to do to help break the ice and make sure all of my friends are comfortable. Any ideas?
Thanks!
