Idea on why my bike continues to make an annoying crunching sound when I pedal?

Ive cleaned the entire bottom bracket making sure there is no dirt build up in it, and I've rebuilt the pedals to clean them out. everything is properly lubed and greased and still have no idea on what is making the noise.

Sounds are hard to diagnose in this type of format, but will give you something to check.

Is your bottom bracket torqued to proper tightness? Hard to do without a torque wrench. A loose bottom bracket (even by 10 lbs/ft.) can make sounds as you describe.

Another area that may make that sound when pedaling is the head set. If it has grit in the bearings they can make a sound as you pedal. You you apply force to more than the bottom bracket as you pedal.

Take the chain off of the chain ring and turn the crank by hand. Check for looseness and roughness. If that checks ok clean the chain and sprockets. I cleaned and repacked a bottom bracket and it started feeling rough the next day. I took it apart again and found a sliver of metal from where they tapped the frame threads. It doesn't take much.
