I'd like to extend a push button mounted on a circuit board and need some advice?

ok so I have button that is mounted on a circuit board, and I'd like to either bypass it or remove it so I can take the button away from the board. When I looked under the board there were six pins underneath it. I was only expecting two... so can anyone tell me more about a single button with 6 pins?
