I've been a little depressed today thinking about the things that didn't go well this year and I'm hoping that reflecting on some accomplishments will make me optimistic about the new year.
1) I graduated with my PhD! ... done with school forever, but got stuck with a low-paying job in a crappy town. I'm looking for another job, but the job market isn't very promising.
2) Paid off my credit card debt!... but I'm staring down the barrel of student loan payments for the next 20 years. At least they're low interest rates.
3) I have a kick-a$$ apartment! Spent the last two years in a studio and my mom's basement. This is heaven compared to that... although, I have mice.
