Ich or Ick on fish. HELP?

I heard that you can add salt to the water to help reduce it, i have freshwater clams in my fishtank as well, should i take them out? or leave them in even with the salt?
 
you can get medicine for ich, my friends goldfish had a severe case, (his eyes literally were burning off) and he used medicine and it was fine. Im not sure about the clams, so take them out just in case. Better be safe than sorry. Im not sure about the salt, but if you 're going to do it, make sure it's non-iodized. Also you can het the medicine at almost any fish store.
