ok so i got an ice fishing rod and reel combo with a few jigs and grub type baits from berkley. i got 3 pound test and if i get a pretty good sized bass or catfish it wouldnt the line break? so my question is when jigging through the ice do i need some type of monofilament leader attached to a barrel swivel? or do i just tie it on directly to the 3 pound test? thanks.
