Ive been callin nextel over and over again bout this but still no solution. Pretty much what it comes down to is I cant send text messages. I get an error ... "Message could not be sent!". Anyone else have this problem or know anything about it? Supposivly a tech is suppose to call me back when he resolves the issue but Ive payed for the messaging service for the last month and half and havent been able to send messages.

thanks for any help

nextel has recently within the past few days changes the way you and your nextel send and recieve text messages... insted of the old SMS way they went to the Net where everytime you revieved a message it would come up as a net alert and you would actually have to go online VIA your cellphone to check them... no nextel has converted their messaging system to the phone and the phone only, you dont need SMS messaging or an java enabled phone to read messages now they have upgraded their messaging system as like all of the other mobile phone carriers out there... soo it should be up and working good now

Enjoy :)

sorry you are incorrect, nextel has always used the net for their 2-way text messaging and have just recently switched to a sms type system and it only functions on the i860. all of the other phones still have to used the net unless you crack the phones software and hack into the i860 server for text messages.

Nah my phone has been doing this since i bought it about a month ago. It gives me the error message "Message could not be sent!" everytime I try to send a message. I just tried and still it will not send messages. Again my web service works fine although it does take a little while for me to recieve messages form others (maybe 10 or 15 minutes). Not sure why that is occuring either.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

not for two-way messaging, just for receiving messages, they call it sms but it really is not because it is not two-way messaging meaning you cannot reply to the message.

So can anyone help me out? I think the tech i talked to is a little retarded. He somehow thinks 48 hours is over 4 weeks long... still no call back from him.

well as you guys were saying you no longer go through the net. It is through actuall messaging that you can send texts. When i go to text messaging through the net it just gives me a message telling me to do it through message center. No option to send one through the net just that message.

I had some problems with my phone a while ago (about a year) whereby it would not connect to anything but a NEXTEL related site. Had tech support reset my IP addy manually in Reston. Apparently they had it blocked for some reason or another, not related to my usage (it's a gov't. issue, not a crack). Maybe there's a problem with yours!?!?
