...of fishes I can keep in there? I currently have a small tank that is overstocked. It has one betta, 8 neon tetras and a cory catfish. I'd like to add these to my new tank and probably add some more. Any ideas what else would be good to add? Thnx

the first 2 posters are right, add 3 more of the same corie species, they are social and will be stressed without more of there own kind. 4 cories and 8 neons will max out the ten gallon, so leave the betta were it is. if its at least 5 gallons. i recomend getting a larger tank, they are more rewarding, easier to keep healthy, and much esier to clean., and you could put the betta in too,

If the small tank is 5 gallons or less, then it is WAY overstocked! A 5 gallon should only hold a single male betta!
If you get a 10 gallon tank, you need to move all the neon's to it, as well as the corycat. THEN, because cory cats are schooling fish that like to be in groups of 4, I would add a couple more.

Then you have to stop there. Anymore any it's overstocked.

Understocked is better than overstocked. An overstocked tank is NOT a healthy or happy tank.
