Here is some advice I heard from Dr. Phil. Look at everything before putting some on your plate, and think of it as a menu. Then choose to have roast beef with mashed potatoes and corn, OR the chicken with some fried rice and stir fried veggies, OR ham and scalloped potatoes, etc.
Avoid the caesar salad in favour of mixed greens with some italian or similar lower-fat dressing. Skip the potato salad.
Pick ONE dessert, not two or three.
Hope this helps. I go to casinos with all-you-can eat buffets pretty often and took this approach.
While what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, it does not hold true for a few extra pounds.
