First time since last July when I got hurt I got down my steps this afternoon (4 flights) and sat outside for 15 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm SOOOO EXCITED!! The pain pills were kicked in good, I took 2 and could take the nerve pains and I got to be outside!!

The only times I've been out in the past 8 MONTHS was to the doctor/surgeon and 2x to a store and 1x for dinner in 8 months! Other than that I've been completely in bed in pain. I've needed help with waking, the steps and/or couldn't sit and now I DID IT! I'm not a hermit anymore!! I'm back in bed and really sore but I DID IT!!! I'm so HAPPY!!

I am 3 weeks post op from my 2nd surgery - this time a fusion! I think I'm going to get better finally!! I got ALOT of nerve pains but it was worth the pain!

Yay Girl!...doesnt outside feel good! Im now doing my walks outside rather than on an inside track and it makes it so much better. Good for you on your progress!...things get better slowly every day...thinking of you

Congrats!

I can't wait to get my life back too! Even just the small things are worth so much. It's amazing what we take for granted when we feel good:)

You go girl, thats great. You did it once and you will do it again, and again. Ten years ago I had an AP Lateral disectomy with bone fusion at the C 5-6, and 6-7. I did very good with recovery. I just had the PLIF at the L5 and S1 done Jan, 16. I guess I expect a miricle overnight. lol. I have been out shopping, so Iam back to driving. That little jaunt did me in. I have pain in my tail bone and Rt. hip, so I do the cold therapy, what a relief. Darvocet N 100 is my drug of choice. I also wear a back brace except when in bed. The only thing Iam doing that is very bad, is smoking. I quit for awhile, but got depressed and stressed out. I quit for a few weeks then back again. Its so hard, but Iam trying. At least Iam limiting myself to maybe 4 or 5 a day. Anyone else have the smoking problem?
Anyways Rose one day at a time girl. Iam right behind you.

Thanks so much everyone!! I was up til like 3 am with being uncomfortable and nerve pains, but, I was happier than anything to get to go outside ON MY OWN! I have been in bed most of the day today, and sleeping on and off, I tired myself out lol I'm beat! And sore!

Robotta-I too have tried to cut back on smoking, and it's so difficult to do I know. I've smoked for 20 yrs so, trying to quit is just impossible in my eyes, especially with all the stress and pains and tons of depression when you're hurt for sure.
