I was wondering which would be better between a 2003 nissan maxima and 2005 ford...

quality---
Ford, not the best but one of the most reliable trucks/suv

performance---
nissan, maxima has a lot of torque but is very bland to drive......feels like im driving a tin can?

looks---
explorer, i like trucks in general

overall---
explorer is my pick, i would drive it anyday
 
Quality - about the same. Don't let anyone tell you Nissan has better quality. They're stereotyping because it's japanese. It is not true. Nissan has had quality problems for the last 10 years or so.

Performance - are you serious? You can't compare the performance of a car and an SUV. The Maxima is faster and handles better, obviously, but the Explorer has more room.

Looks - I've always thought the Maximas were ugly... for the type that is so hung up on attention they don't realize they've crossed the line between tacky and sporty.

Overall - Explorer. More function.
