i was wondering if cycling (stationery bike) helps with running, especially uphill...

...running.? I am asking this, because in a 3 mile race today, it was a really hilly course, and my quads were burning (tired). I got 40 seconds worse than my pr which i got two weeks before, and i hvae been training the same, if not harder in those weeks. and i have been cycling and working my quads a lot. It was weird, because there is a really big hill in the beginning, and my quads were just dead after it, and they never got untired, any tips?

It can, but it doesn't take into consideration that you are also trying to fight gravity.

Cycling and running uses up different muscles (unless you are cycling at a very high cadence, you are unlikely to have much of an effect on your quads).

Try running up flights of stairs. If you use escalators, use the stairs instead. You will be fighting gravity and it will probably be steeper than most hills.

The other option you could have is to run with a backpack.

i will say yes but not as good as actually doing the running because u get to work out all the muscles that u need in the race prepared...
