I was suiting banks , so I told my gym ( BALLY'S ) that I would have to pay it in cash for that month I was using until I get my new card. The guy at the front desk told me it was ok. So I thought would be good to ask if I could upgrade my membership to something cheaper, or if I could pay for the whole yr. He told me he could update for a better deal than even paying for the whole yr. That would be 50 dollars , plus 19.99. But because I canceled my old checking account and I was waiting for the new bank give me a new card I couldnt upgrade yet, they need a debit card for that. Ok ... so I told them what was going one and they told me it was ok, for me to keep using the gym until the new card comes so I can get it all straight out... the bank gave me a new card, but it was a temporary one cause the actual one would take up to 10 business days to get it. So I tried to set up with a temporary card cause I was getting nervous of using something and not been paying for. So the guy at the front desk tried and didnt work, and because it was a temporary card wouldn't go thru . So he told me to wait to the actual one. All this has been taking over week and I wanted to get it str8 out as soons it was possible. Well on this tuesday I called and I spoke with the actual manager of the facility, and I explained the whole situation, and told him that my bank told me that new card was coming on thursday( today ). He told me I could do it on friday if I wanted so, that wasnt a problem and if I want to use the gym I just had to say that I spoke to him. Good , but I went tonight( thursday) cause I want to use the gym, I like to workout , well when I went there the manager told me ( with out apologizing) that he couldnt do it and if one of the guys did they could get fired. So I told him... why did you not tell me that before? He didnt say anything, and he told me that I was suppose to pay 63 dollars for the pass due, but I told him.... look you told me was ok to wait all this time , but he rolled his eyes and told me nothing he could do and HE IS THE BOSS.
I left there very angry but I didnt say anything because I could lose my temper and lose my rights
now I don't know what to do. I felt used, because in good faith I waited all these time for something they knew it wasn't possible ( at least the manager), and I think I didn't deserve that treatment, plus if he did care about that business he would try to work around with a better deal. He also told me I could leave if I wanted.
He is a new manager and I don't know if he did all that cause I am latin and he thought I didn't know my rights. He is white, or if he thinks he is better than anyone else just cause he is a manager. I don't know, but I wanted to make sure that he wont do that to anyone, but that was so frustrating when you are lied and mistreated and can't to do anything about it.
