I was knitting a solid square of brown yarn when I found a huge knot in my skein....

...What should I do? I'm brand new to knitting, so please forgive me.

I am knitting a small plushie bear that's basically just a little stuffed rectangle. It's very simple so I'm not having too much trouble. Well, I thought I wasn't!

I made it to row 20 when I found a giant knot in the middle of the skein of yarn I was using. It's about a foot away from my knitted rows if you measure it out, but it's inevitable that I'll get to it.

It's too tight to untangle on it's own, and I have no choice to cut it. How would I start using a cut piece of yarn back into the work? I've never knit anything else before; this is my first attempt at knitting.

Help!!!
