I was hit on my bike by a car today... What should I do?

I was riding across the street today on my bike on an intersection cross-walk with right of way (the right of way sign indicating that I can walk popped up). Upon going half-way across the intersection I noticed that someone was turning into me (left-hand turn). I yelled and he stopped after hitting my front bike tire. I got off the bike unhurt and then quickly memorized his license plate number - he pulled over and I asked for his name and phone number, which he did not want to give me. He then drove away quickly.

Should I pursue this guy? I have his license plate numbers and he did bash my front wheel in pretty good (now I need to get a new one...). Too bad he didn't just give me his phone number because then I wouldn't have to go to the police to get it! I just want my wheel fixed! :P

You need to file a police report as a hit and run. You should have actually called them when you got hit. In most states, including TX where I am, bicycles have the same laws as cars. If i were you I would file a complaint on this guy and get what you are entitled to. Fair warning tho, the police will try to get out of this b/c you didnt call when you got hit, but harass them about it, dont let them just tell you they cant. Make them do something.
