find parts compatible? As far as i can tell its an Atala road bike from the early seventies with all campagnolo parts. I have scoured the internet and came up with nothing. From what I can tell I need to replace the wheels rims and all and the chain. the bike still shifts well but skips due to the old chain, and the spokes are bending and a few have broken. It is a 10 speed and the serial number is 79X7496. I would like to know if any modern parts are compatible with this bike. any help would be greatly appreciated

Contact the Cyclist Touring Club and other more traditional cycling groups, they may be able to give you some contact details.

I also have a 1980's vintage bike, however I'm glad to say it is in good condition, and most parts are still available anyway. In your case it might be worth visiting a local bike shop to see if they can offer any advice.

My first stop with old bike questions is oldroads.com. They have a very strong discussion area on the English Roadsters I collect, but they also have a light weight section that might be useful to you.
