i was born in canada. currently in the u.s. army, do i need a passport to enter canada?

***NOTE: I am currently in iraq and want to go to toronto for r&r,
i have a military active duty i.d. card, state i.d.. copy of my birth certificat(canadian), and leave paperwork and deployment orders....I JUST WANT TO GO SEE MY MUM I DIDNT KNOW YOU NEED A PASSPORT.....WHEW TIMES ARE CHANGING.
