Well it doesn't make sense to me how people can blindly believe and think everyone who doesn't will go to hell.
I consider myself to have a scientific mind, so if there is some evidence to support a theory I'll go with it. I am not debating the existence of god, because this world runs to smooth and effective. Has rules, laws a flow to it feeling like its been designed to do what its doing.
Although I don't believe this entity called god made religion, asked to be worshiped and that is what I want to debate.
My side of this is being worshiped is a human need, something that is all powerful like god wouldn't need to be worshiped.
A few more points:
Why would god torture you for eternity if you didn't follow the path this son laid out and give up all your sins? Yes god is the one casting you to be tortured because according to all religions he's all mighty, before there was anything there was god. So he designed the system that a honest good man would need to burn for eternity for committing 1 sin in there life and not following a religion that allowed them to get rid of that sin. It just doesn't seem like a system that a loving god(like indicated in most religions) would build. Or a system a loving god would make, why would a person without religion be any better than a person with religion.
Personally I believe this entity sparked life, because despite what people say the evidence on evolution is far to strong to say it is wrong. To many people are getting a theory mixed up with a scientific theory, don't think I need to explain the difference.
Having said that my next point is if god did make us why would he make religion? This is stating that he didn't just spark life, but actually made a man and a woman and told them there path. Put a actual influence into mankind.
Seems like religion is the worst thing that could of ever happened to this world. It causes us to fight, torture and kill each other. It divides us as a whole, a brotherhood. It turns us against basically our own family(family as in we are all related even in the slightest). What good has religion brought that we couldn't achieve on our own? I mean a religious man doesn't mean that man will be any more good a person than a non religious man. If god was as nice as he is said to be in religions, things like race and religion wouldn't exist. It would want all of its children to be together and definitely wouldn't invent something like religion just so he could be worshiped.
I have a few more points but for now lets see what kind of debate we can bring up on this. Because religion is so strong in this world that I could even be killed in some circles for even thinking something like this. So I don't think there should be any lack of words for this one.
Please if you respond, no short answers give detail to your side of the debate. If you agree hit some key points and add on. If you disagree explain it in a way we can understand fully, don't just quote a Bible or something.
For the religious side, if you can say something strong enough to "win" this debate you probably would have converted me at that point and then you would of been doing some powerful meaningful work so give a real answer on yourside of the debate and check back often I'll be responding as you go.
