I have had these two goldfish for about maybe 6-7 months. I got them when they were tiny goldfish. I have not been feeding them on any sort of schedule. I feed them when I remember or feel like it. They seem like happy healthy goldfish.
About 3-4 days ago I bought a snail, a plecostomus fish, a fish tank filter and a live plant to help keep the tank clean and healthy. I got tired of cleaning out the water every few days.
The plecostomus fish doesn't seem to want to leave this squid hid a hole I have in the fish tank...Why do you think that is?
I also was told to buy 'Algae wafers' to feed the plecostomus fish and snail because my fish tank does not have any algae in it, since I just cleaned it when I installed the filter.
I dropped in a wafer into my tank about 1 hour ago right next to the squid hid a hole and some floating fish pellets for the goldfish. The snail crawled over to the wafer and started chowing down and the goldfish went for the pellets. After, the goldfish were done eating the fish pellets they got interested in the wafer and started circling it. The snail left the wafer and the goldfish started nibbling at the wafer.
The plecostomus fish does not even seem interested in the wafer. He should be hungry...
I've not fed them in 1-2 days... :c
Do you think the plecostomus fish doesn't want to eat since the snail got there first and was like smothering it? Did the snail stop eating because he is scared of the goldfish? Does the plecostomus fish hid in the squid hid a hole because it's scared of the goldfish? Why is it not eating? Are my goldfish bullies?
I do not want to drop another wafer in my tank and over feed my goldfish...

Is it okay they eat the wafer? How do I tell them NO!?
