I want to write a book, but what should i do?

I already have an amazing idea for a book, the problem is - there's no point in me writing and taking the time for it, if i cant find a place to publish it, and get it to everywhere. So i guess my main question is - Where's the best place in my case, to publish a book? And how would i go from, writing it on paper to i guess, putting it in a book store? i could spend all the time i want writing it on paper, or on computer, but i dont know what to do with it after that. Can someone please help me?
 
I think you should just forget about publishing it for now-if it's that great of an idea write it down! You've got to have a book before you can even think of publishing it!
