i want to work for fish & wildlife conservation, how do i start?

Decide what area you want to get involved in. Do you want to deal with the laws, inform the people, work in the outdoors, heal injured wildlife, study the ecology - what? If you're not sure, pick an area to volunteer in and ask a lot of questions. If you don't like the first one, try something else.

Read everything you can get your hands on and study as if your life depended on it. You want top grades when you are about to graduate HS and apply to college. When I was there, Cornell Univ. had a Conservation Department, in which you could major in Fishery Biology , Wildlife Conservation, or a couple of other specialties. I suspect that other state schools have something similar.

If you're still in school, start a nature club and your advisers will help you find other organizations that help rehabilitate and preserve ecosystems.

You and your board-members may also collaborate to form a new group.

You can still form an environmental protection organization yourself, even if your not in school. You can gather friends and family, co-workers, and neighbors and go to your community leaders to ask for help in protecting the Earth's natural world.
