My dad refuses to allow me to upgrade my phone to a smartphone because he believes that it will re-enlist all four phones to a 2 year contract. The contract has expired and he doesn't want to change anything on the plan. I know that there will be the additional $30 fee for the data plan, but will anything else change if I upgrade to a smartphone? Does the family plan change? Will the price go up on the other phones? Does it make all four phones sign a new contract for 2 years of just my phone? Any additional information you can provide on the subject is also welcomed. The more I know the better. Thanks!
