I want to upgrade my Schwinn Mesa GS mountain bike on a budget, any suggestions?

I have a Schwinn Mesa GS and am looking at fiddling with it in my house and upgraing a few parts.

This is the spec at the moment:

Suntour xcc-202 front derailleur
Shimano deore rear
Shimano EF-29 brakes with tektro pulls
Manitou 6 coil forks 100mm travel
Truativ Xflow crankset

I have a budget of around £250 but will probably buy most parts 2nd hand.

What do you suggest?
