Hello Billy ~
It's only Monday evening. You have plenty of time to make many more posts!! Oh, I see...you are going to be with your family and they will probably find ways to keep you occupied. Well, you see...the point of all this anguish is that by the time you get to Wednesday, you will be so looking forward to this surgery that you will go skipping and dancing into the operating holding area!! They won't even have to put you on a cart and wheel you in. People will see you and wonder who's going to the party and they will be jealous when they find out it is YOU !! :dizzy:
No, seriously, Billy, it will be great to have your family to distract you a little bit, and I was serious about the rest. I got to the point that I became very calm a day or two before my surgery. I felt that I had done everything I could to prepare myself, including choosing a very good surgeon and I was eager to get it over with. I was calm on the day of surgery, even thought I ended up having to wait hours longer than had been scheduled. I would not normally describe myself as a calm person, so I don't know where this calm came from, but it was lovely.
You too are in the position I was in. You have prepared yourself for your surgery, as best you can. You have asked many questions, and are now ready to get it over....I know you too will feel that wonderful sense of readiness and eagerness to have it behind you. And in a matter of mere days, you will be back on here posting a whole new bunch of questions -- and before you know it, six weeks will have flown by, like it has for me, and you'll be wondering where has the time gone!!
I know you'll do great, Billy. Don't be afraid to ask for help at the hospital if you need it. If you start feeling a little bit anxious, just think about all your frienRAB here on the board who are thinking about you, lifting you up in prayer.
You will know you are not alone.
Blessings ~
xx M
