ASP is a dead technology. ASP.Net is still alive and you can get the free development stuff from Microsoft. PHP is also not going away anytime soon. Both have a good adoption. However, I would go with ASP.Net over PHP to secure your Future. The reason I say this is that ASP.Net pays a little better than PHP. I also see more .Net development positions out there.

This is not always true. Every time I see a PHP developer position here, it is usually someone trying to get something done on the cheap. That is just MY market though.

Anyway, you need to check your local demands for employers to see which skill sets are most in demand. Also, you should learn both to be a little more flexible.
 
...easy...PHP or .ASP ? i m a visual basic programmer and now want to switch to web based applications so plz guide me. whats is the better to secure my future.
