I want to start my own business... I think I have an amazing idea...?

Right now, I work at 2 companies who make fruit and vegetable platters of all shapes and sizes, as well as a variety of salads, and vegetable/fruit trays and the like.
People order the trays or salads, and pick them up 24 hours later.

I think I could do this same thing at home, with better quality and options. And I could also deliver.

I know this is a great business, because just at one of my jobs, in a day, we clear at least $7000.
That is not including special orders, or seasonal items.

My question is .. How do I go about starting a business of this kind? (I do not want to ask my present employers)
Any suggestions or wisdom of any kind is appreciated.
I just know I have this idea, and I dont know how to impliment it.

Also, any ideas for names?
Thanks!

The key here is contacts. You have to get people to buy your stuff. They have people that are willing to pay 7,000 dollars per day for their stuff.

Do you know anyone that would pay that much for salads and fruit platters? I don't.

I'm not trying to be mean, I'm being realistic. My father started his own candle company and was well below the poverty limit for about 8 years. He finally got enough contacts that he could sell in one Kroger grocery store. That led to him meeting the store manager, who gave him 4 stores to sell in, and then he got to meet the regional manager and then he got about 2 dozen stores to sell in.

Unfortunately for us, we had some family issues that disrupted production and we lost those stores (and the business).

It's hard work, but if you really want it (and can stand to be broke for a LONG time), go for it!
