start anyway. it will help you be more active and in turn lose weight. dont worry about the others they were where you would be if you started a few years ago. the dont assume everyone will start at the same time.

im only 14, but 2 other adults did it with me as a white belt.
the master will tell u its ok as long as u try your hardest. but eventually ull be able to keep up! you sweat alot, so dont be embarrassed or push urself less because of that
You won't necessarily make a fool out of yourself. Actually, they'll probably like having you there. If you have more weight to throw around, you'll be a tougher opponent. : )
You must workout to lose the weight! You wont be highly effective until you get down to close to your normal weight! But martial arts involved intense physical workouts and you will lose weight come hell or high water! Otherwise you wont last long in martial arts!
