Is it hard for a kid to switch from an omnivore to a vegan lifestyle? I'm 13 and wanted to start eating healthier and save animals as well. What are some good dishes that are kid friendly and taste good? Any advice? Oh and how do I tell my parents that I want to make this transition when they love meat and dairy products.

Any advise would help a lot! What are your favorite dishes that taste good? How do you make a big transition gradually? Should I try to convince my friends and family to get into this kind of lifestyle?

Thanks for anyone who answers! <3
I am completely into the idea and am positivly sure that I want to do this and am really open to any foods or changes that I will go through, again any advise at all would be great!

Well, their are people called "sattvic vegetarians" who still eat dairy products, but they are more of so vegetarians for the "cleanse" that it brings to your system. I have been one for about a month now, and you have to make sure you get your protein or else you will stop growing! Eat your nuts, cashews, almonds, etc. Just make sure that you get enough protein. As a sattvic, you get more food options like grilled cheeses, milk, butter, and pizza (without meat! Eat only once in awhile). Other "kid friendly" foods for breakfast are:

Toast
Waffles with 100% maple syrup
Pancakes w/ " "
Fruits
Nuts
Bagels
Cereal w/ milk

Lunch:
Tomato Soup
Grilled Cheese
Mac and Cheese
PB and J's
Veggie Burgers (Boca is a good veggie burger, they taste like real burgers!)
Granola Bars
Trail Mix
Fruits
Salads w/ sauces you like
Japanese food that has veggies in it
etc.

Dinner:
Veggie Burgers
Tofu
(Same things as Lunch)

Snacks:
Crackers with Peanut Butter
Trail Mix
anything without meat*

Good luck with your decision, but if your parents don't want you to be a vegan, then just try and introduce these into your diet. Good luck, :).
