i want to start a planted fish bowl with out fish. what is the best kind of

The biggest fish bowl hold about 1 1/2 gallons of water, but if you are going to grow aquatic plants then you need a bigger fish tank. The biggest fish tank that I've seen is about 1000 gallons and you can find them on the internet. If just doing plants you should get a tank that is at least 30 gallons and get plants that are easy to take care of.
 
You are going to need to have a proper plant light over it. I suggest you look into biorbs. I do not know what the lighting in them is like though.
