tips, suggestions! 
? so i'm 16 and my parents said i should think of a project to do, cuz i dont do anything... well i was thinking i should start a small garden in my back yard. and i am now really excited to do this. but i have no idea where to start! soo theres a part in my backyard the size is small and nice for a garden...however the soil is damaged. so can u give me tips on how to start the garden, how can i make the soil better to plant flowers, what flowers can i plant, any books, anything that will educate me on gardens will be great. also i live in kansas so the weather is nice but it can be random... is there a place i need to call for plants or something (thats what ive been told) and i'm just open to any suggestions and any info so i can actually start my garden. also its almost december the weather is getting cold anything i need to know about that... thank you so much to anyone! also please dont say any rude comments because i'm excited about this project and I actually want to educate myself in this.
