I want to sell Droid after purchase...

I was planning on buying the new Droid at my discount price on my contract so that I could sell it.

What I want to do is simply put my old phone back on the plan in place of the droid after the purchase so that I can then sell it. Is this possible to do without incurring any penalties under verizon's contract?

If anyone thinks this is unethical by the way don't even bother responding. Some people have told me that but it's my option to buy this phone at the discount price and after it's under my ownership I don't see any problem with doing this... assuming it's possible under the contract of course.

Yes what you want to do is perfectly fine. I work at Verizon and they give you the deal for signing on for the next two years. What you do with the phone doesnt matter to them at all as long as you are paying them every month for the next two years. You wont incur any ETFs or anything like that. just buy it, Switch-Back to your old phone and then sell it. that simply

Might want to look at that $350 contract break fee first.... also just think about what happens if you need a new phone? Also my local Best Buy and VZW stores had a ton of them left at the end of the first couple of days.... not selling too well atm.

VZW may also require you to keep the data plan for the 2 years as well....

But I LOVE mine!

I am thinking about that contract fee. That's why I was asking this, I currently have verizon and I intend on sticking with the contract for 2 years. What I want to do is make a couple hundred off the droid while it's hot and just continue to use my current phone which I like and works just fine.

All I wanted to do was swap the phone out not cancel the contract. From what the poster above said though it should be just fine.

You will be fine.

They will frown on this and may stick you with the $30 data plan for the duration of the contract...but they won't charge you any type of contract break fee (what the heck is that? Never heard of it...I know of an ETF...but that isn't the case).

Really? Looks like they are selling for right about $500 every five to ten minutes as the auctions end. Check completed listings....................
