Anyone else fed up with 3D and want to see films in good old fashioned 2D? i went to see Shrek yesterday. As its only on once a week in 2D then a 3D screening was the only option. So i walked in with my unlimited card to be told there is an "uplift" as its in 3D! Whatever an "uplift" is!! Why cant they just say its

Yeah I understand aswell that 3D is not for everyone, in fact I've heard of people getting headaches from watching the constant 3D motion.
I myself do like the occasional 3D adventure but not if it's overdone for every film. They should have the consistent option for viewers to choose whether to watch in 2D or 3D in cinemas which I know Avatar provided. Not sure about others though.

The were 3D faRAB in the 1950's and 1980's, weather this current batch of 3D films is just another fad is yet to be seen, Avatar was great and benefited from the technology, as for the rest I wouldn't bother.

This 3d thing is a total rip off. Every movie i have seen in 3D hasn't really a huge difference to be honest when i have later seen the 2d verson. It's a way of us paying extra money and I aint doing it no more. It's totally overated. I bet Shrek and T story 3 are no different without it.

yawn. dont hold your breath. 3d is here to stay, so get over it. A vast majority of people enjoy it compared with the few with headaches (Its a rarity, people!). Continue to bury your heaRAB in the sand all you want, but alot of natural 3d films (among other like mediums) are winning over alot of people unlike the 2d alternative hence fewer 2d screenings. supply&demand strikes again basically, no point saying 3d is crap or its a fad because incase you havent indulged in tech news lately its clearly not the case, sorry.

And anyway shrek4 wasnt that great be it 2d or 3d, sheesh!

That's unfortunate that your local cinema is not giving you the option to choose 2D over 3D. I personally like 3D films, don't get headaches and find the glasses perfectly comfy even on top of my seeing glasses and i don't mind paying the extra

My local cinema always has the 2D option on as well.

You might have to wait, but if you want to save money then it's worth it surely?

I have mixed views of 3D-the market has been over saturated with films using it badly. But when used well (Pixar's UP, the 3D U2 concert movie, Avatar), I'll happily pay a little extra.

The ridiculous cardboard glasses used to get on my nut
My local cinema has since invested in better 3d glasses that dont give me a headache, therefore i can no longer complain about 3d. personally i dont care, but being a technophobe i do prefer 2d

The worst are the films that are 'converted' into 3D. An absolute waste of money and a bit of a con really.

I'm glad Inception will be in good old fashioned 2D.

I went to see Shrek in 3D this week and it did make things stand out more, but i don't like the fact that i have to see 3D, i want 2D a good normal looking film, i really hope that they have the 2D option for Harry Potter cause i don't wanna be sat watching that with them stupid glasses on!

I personally think 3D is good. Yes some of the films don't need to be in 3D, but I personally enjoy it.

I do feel sorry people who have to wear polarised glasses in real life, as these are the ones who gets headaches, as the 3D glasses are also polarised. I wear glasses for long distances and I'm fine. It's just those with really bad eyesight that can't watch them.

Films like Up, Avatar, Monsters vs Aliens and Christmas Carol were amazing in 3D. I saw Shrek in 3D the other day and it was really good, looking back on it I feel I still would have enjoyed it in 2D, but I still prefer watching things in 3D as it's something you can't do at home (unless you have a few grand lol).

I'm not sure if I want to see Harry Potter in 3D though. If I have enough money at that time I might try both lol.

I agree that the formerly 2D films converted to 3D are rubbish though - I saw Toy Story 2 in 3D and the 3D wasn't that great, and the glasses were uncomfortable (this was at the 02 Grenwich. Read 3D glasses are so much better)
