if you're a minor (which I assume you to be), I would look at the group Creative Communications; they have three poetry competitions a year, and although they publish thousands of poems in each volume, they also have voting for each contest by the participants for the top 10 poems; the number one poem earns the writer a scholarship of some amount (the last time I was in the contest it was 10,000), as well as a check for 25 or 50 dollars for the other poets in the top10. They have a very well put together group, there isn't a purchase nessecary to have your work published or considered, and they will le you know, if you are to be published, how and when you can buy a book. While thousands enter, only about half get into the book in the first place.
