You'll need to first paint it with a sealer like Kilz, or you can use two coats of a high-hide paint. My favorite brand is Behr. Just ask the man or woman at the paint store and follow their recommendation.
Well, there are a couple things you can do: use a sealer like KILZ, or i think they make Interior Primers, then paint it your light green. but why trade maroon for light green ;\
