Hey there,
Ive recently expressed great interest in joining the Australian Defence Force. I believe it will be an excellent opportunity to expose myself to a broad range of careers and i will learn so much. It seems like such an exciting and engaging job but i am only interested in part-time, reserves team. My brother has nearly completed his application with only the physical left to go and he took a while convincing my mum to allow him to join (it is relevant to his future career choice). With me however, i simply want to join to get a taste of military life, gain valuable experience and well...of course it would be cool to handle real weapons rather than the PC games on the computer. However, my mother has already said a very adament NO as i am a girl and it is not my duty to serve in such a male job. I have given her all the relevant facts such as the amount of women already joined but there is asbolutely no way she will say yes. neither will my grandparents and although my brother said he wouldnt have a problem with it, he understands why my mum and grandparents do. I really feel passionate about joining, it would such a wonderful experience but unfortunately i cannot convince my elders to let me. I am 16 at the moment and even tho when im 18, i can join without their consent, i dont want to go against their wishes since they did raise me after all. What can i do?
I want to join!

I am quite strong (i can lift a 100kg bench press) tho my aerobic fitness definitely needs some work. However, i do believe with some hard work i can reach a very good fitness ability
EDIT:: hi brooke i would love to e-mail you but ur profile does not allow e-mail!
