I really want to get involved in my comunity but i feel im too young. im 11. I can't go out by myself because of my stupid parents and i don't want to join a group unless it is a indipendint group.

One of the things I do is take my reusable bags when ever I go shopping. They don't really cost that much. At most grocery stores they are around $1.00. Some places will even give a 5 cent credit if you bring your own bags. If your parents don't want to buy the reusable bags then encourage them to reuse the bags they get from the store.

Your parents are not stupid. They are very caring and just want you to be safe.

Good for you for wanting to do something to help. Good luck.

I know that just unplugging cords that are not being used is helpful because even it the plug thing is not being used, energy is still being drawn from it! Also, taking REALLY warm showers can use energy up, so maybe you could take a colder shower. Also, turn off lights when they are not being used. Same with water, just turn it off. Simple, right? I know a lot of this stuff is just stuff you hear often, but it really helps! Also, don't forget to bring your reusable bags to the grocery store! Good luck! :-D

If you live in a small town (less than 5,000 people) and the weather is pleasant most of the year(everywhere but Alaska) ride your bike ion short trips to the store or to school
If you live in Alaska or an unsafe place put together a system of carpool partners to travel together instead of driving in your parents car by yourselves
organize your community to carpool and ride-share when traveling to the same place
people want to be energy efficient. there are advantages: lower cost: more interesting than going alone: less stress: etc. If you live in a major city you can use public transit
to get around: it costs less than gas does and there's no wear on your car so less mechanical work is needed less often

I live in Los Angeles CA so what I do to help the environment is I recycle beverage containers and ride the bus rather than drive my car
I appreciate your initiative in expressing yourself in this community
we need more like you tell your parents not to break the mold-smile

There are literally an infinite number of things you can do for our environment
You could collect old shoes in t=your neighborhood to give to the needy
:You could call the mayor or write them a letter expressing your commitment to using solar wind and other alternative forms of energy
get enough people to sign your letter and it will light a fire under his pants to do something
DON'T STOP! TEACH OTHER KISA HOW TO BE
PART OF THE SOLUTION not the problem
There are no simple answers to your question cuz it has taken millions of years of not being concerned about our environment to get us here
If you haven't seen the Film "An Inconvenient Truth"
by Al Gore
See it
invite others to see it like the city counsel and the police department and the Fire department
if your town is small enough you could have the local movie theatre show it and fill every seat
the theatre owner will appreciate that
Oh and you could eat vegetarian
probably not until you're 16 but eating meat is actually harmful to the environment
