I want to grow a winter veggie garden in Southeast Queensland. What will grow best?

The family likes things like carrots, onion, potatoes, cukes, corn... what will grow well with our cold nights but relatively nice days? Any help would be appreciated! We don't have a lot of room for a garden but are trying to help offset major food price increases, plus we used to like to garden!!

S Qld winter nights can in the 40s (fahrenheit), days in the 60s- 70s.

We need something hardy!!
