Hi Karen. Well i always think the best places to go camping are the proper registered campsites. Some of the caravan sites allow tents on too. By going onto these sites you know that you have showers & washing facilities & also there are other people around, so that way you will all feel much safer than just pitching up anywhere. At least you know that if you are taken ill or anything there is always the campsite manager to go & see or other people on the site who can help. Also a lot of the fields you see that have a fantastic view over a stream or the lakes/fells belong to farmers anyway & are private property so you are not allowed to camp there anyway without the permission of the owner. Go on line & type in the Lake District, there is some stunning scenery to be seen.Well like most of Britain there is the most amazing things/scenery to see & explore.Enjoy your holiday & i hope you find a great place to camp out with your friends.
