I want to get into sports.?

So, I know that all my friends watch sports on TV. And I never really learned about the scores, etc. I have been wanting to get into sports, and not like physically, but understanding what everything means when its on the TV. Like the scores, positions,etc. Mainly in NFL. I want to get into NFL and want to know what is what,etc. I also want to get into the Madden Games and such. Where should I start?
