I want to get a few pet fish. They must be guppy sized. What kind should I get?

So when I was younger I remember I had 3 guppy-sized fish of different colors. One was blue, one was red, one was white and black striped. They were really cool and I have NO idea what kind of fish they were (definitely not Beta - much, much smaller)...

I'm stopping by the pet fish store tomorrow. Does anyone know what I should ask for?

They were probably Guppies, Guppies come in all of those colors and come in 100's of 1000's more colors and variations than those.

Stick with Guppies, they are very hardy, beautiful and extremely easy to breed.

Make sure that you get at least a 10g tank, but a larger tank would be more logical because the larger the tank the more the water is stable, a stable tank leads to healthy and happy fish.

You will need a filter, a heater and an air pump, and if you don't already have a tank get one.

But get the tank before you get the fish because you will need to set it up and cycle the tank.

I guess you are wondering, what is this cycling a tank all about?
It is a process of growing a colony of beneficial bacteria which will help break down uneaten fish food and fish poop, cycling a tank takes 2-5 weeks but trust me, when you finish you will be very happy, in that 2-5 weeks you will just keep learning how to clean your tank and learn about the fish you want to keep.

Never overfeed your fish, just 1-2 times a day and just as much as they can eat in 1 minute, if there is any uneaten food than you are feeding too much.

Good luck@
