I find when I'm driving I wonder what would happen if I put the pedal to the medal and drove straight into a tree like how much would it hurt how would I look what would the car look like? Same with sticking my hand underneath the lawn mower or letting a snake bite me. I end up really wanting to do it just to see, I nearly have several times. Does anyone else think like this? and if so do you know why?

Yes, i have the same impulses. Not so much to the same extreme but i know exactly what you mean, and I have doen some of them. But yes, I can agree with both, you can try to fight the urge, and if you can't seem to beat it, talk with someone. It doesn't mean you're crazy to talk with a counselor, they can just probably see the underlying reason for you doing this. It may be a link back to stress. There may be alot of stress in your life. Just sit back and relax once in awhile, those urges might lessen.

Get help. I'm not be a smarta$$ I just worry you will hurt yourself or someone else. See a shrink ASAP. Please.

I do, I get impulses like that all the time. In the car if I'm holding something valuable. . . 'What would happen if I just threw it out the window?' I think everyone does that sometimes. (Or all of the time.)
Really, all I did is just fight the urge and it just came less and less.
good luck!

I'm sure I've probably wondered about random things like this all the time, just out of random curiosity. If you're thinking about little things (like throwing and breaking things as someone else mentioned) it could be harmless. However, it is not good that you have really considered doing things that could really harm you.

I would really talk to your parents or someone else who cares about you and/or go to a counselor at your school. If you are in college, many have free counseling.

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with you, but someone like this could help you find out why you feel this way and help you to ignore these impulses or stop having them.
