> I want to do photography so badly,
How BADLY? Are you willing to invest the time and efforts to learn? Or do you just expect a short cut? How much do you study it on your own? To be a good photographer, you really have to be DRIVEN and just do it all the time - just because you love it.

Nobody every really knows until they actually try it. Some will fail and FEW will succeed. Go for it.

Being an artist is one of the hardest professions. Most of the time your clients will just tell you what they WANT, not what you want.
To be an artists, YOU have to be proven to produce images that others didn't think to ask for. BUT you have to have enough of a following, that your clients will TRUST you and say, YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT! That is a rare thing in any BUSINESS.
You have to pay your dues. You do exactly what the clients demand, and sneak in some of your own ideas. And if you are good, eventually they will pick your vision over their own. Eventually you will have their trust and they will just give you the creative controls. Again RARE but not impossible.
Just be careful. I've seem many smart and creative people just CRASH and BURN because they just too won't do what the clients wants (even before they've proven themselves).
The down side of all this is that if you are good but not great, you will be called to do what the clients want BUT never given the chance to be an artists. Many artists fall into this situation and HATES their profession for it. This is the UPs and the DOWNs of trying to be an artist.

Only time will tell. But it is RARE but not impossible thing to achieve (to be an artists).
