I want to do interval training like sprints, will i have to be good at jogging first?

im starting off my fitness regime now but i dont want to just be jogging, ive heard all out explosive exercise like sprinting will burn fat as well as build muscle, and i think would be much more fun, but will i have to be a good jogger before i move on to sprints or can i just practise sprinting without having to run miles first?
 
Well it depends jogging is more for long distance running as sprinting is for short distance. Depends which one you are better at. But if you want to sprint, quick fast jogs probably would be good practice/warm up
