I want to buy a used truck soon. I really like the new Toyota Tacomas, but..?

I am looking for a truck under 10k&the new toyota Tacomas, even used, are rarely under 10k. I can't even find on in Phoenix that is for sell. What would you suggest to buy instead of Tacoma? Price:10k or under, and reasonable gas mileage.
 
Look for an F-150 2WD V6-you can easily find one for under 10K, they are FAR cheaper to repair than a Toyota and they don't burn nearly as much gas as the V8 4x4 models.
